Who Are We?

The 'Javea in Nepal' Charity is run in the UK by Vera Russell, assisted by daughters Dianne and Lynne, and in Nepal by Sitaram Timalsina, always referred to as Jack, and a network of family and friends who give continuous support.

Vera is a retired teacher, who trained and worked in Leeds for 30 years.

She is the main fund-raiser and is now based in Northumberland.

Dianne and Lynne keep the finances in order and generally help with organising events and advertising.

Dianne is a Nursing Sister and Lynne is an Administration Officer.

Jack is Nepalese and lives in Kausaltar, near Kathmandu. He does all the organising of our projects in Thokarpa and as chairman of the village committee is the liaison that ties up the needs of the village with the fund-raisers.

All these people are home-based, and other than minimal running expenses, all the work is done on a voluntary basis, thus ensuring the maximum use of all funds that are raised.

Vera goes to Nepal once a year and Jack has been to the UK twice, and are in constant communication.

This has developed a good personal and working relationship with all the people involved in both countries.
