Current Events

A number of fund-raising events are held each year to provide the resources for further improvements.

Fund-Raising Events for 2012

Dates and details are to be announced later, but so far, plans include:

  • A Choir Concert with adults and school children taking part, to celebrate the Queen's 60th Jubilee.
  • A Mini-Olympic bike ride for children 5 years old and under. The ride and medals ceremony will take place at and around South Beach Community Centre.
  • A Sponsored Firewalk for daring people over 16 years of age and Zumba dancing for all the energetic 'chickens'!

Fund-Raising Events for 2011

In February, 2011 we are planning to hold another Health Camp in the Health Post in the village of Thokarpa.

Cataracts are common in Nepal and when they develop, can eventually lead to blindness. People in this condition are not able to work and become a burden to the rest of the family. We know that it is a problem which is fairly easily remedied if identified. To this end, we hope to get opticians to test the eyes of as many people as possible from the large area that is served by our Health Post, and where treatment of any kind is needed, to arrange for it to take place.

Money raised at the above event will help to finance it.
