Key Aims for Javea
Our first priority was to get a clean water supply to the village.
Our second was to be a Health Post with a resident nurse that would also supply health care for nearby villages.
The UK branch of Javea will raise the money that is needed for all the projects. Liaison will then take place between the UK and Nepalese branches. When decisions have been reached, Jack will order the equipment needed and the villagers will do all the work required to complete the project. This way, the local people stay independent, with a pride of ownership. They will know how to repair and upkeep everything with little more financial imput from the UK, except for the need to invest enough money in the bank to generate enough interest to pay the nurse's salary and any shortfall in the cost of medicines.
Javea will keep reviewing the needs of the area at short intervals to work out priorities and discuss any further developments that need to be made.
