Primary School Toilets for Pupils
This project was prompted by a survey carried out in 2008.
The poor toilet pictured in the foreground, below, was the only toilet at the primary school, and was for the use of the staff, and the children 'went to the toilet' behind the trees with no privacy and causing much pollution.
A vast improvement has been achieved by the construction of a pupil's toilet block, carried out by the villagers, and taking advantage of the new water supply, which simply required extending to the school.
The new block of three toilets can be seen in the background of the picture, above. It provides one toilet for boys, one for girls, and one for staff. The water supply extension was funded by donations collected by the New Hartley Brownies.
